No official/formal structure initiated to date, though a state web page providing health reform information has been established and the existing Health Care Coverage and Quality Council (HCCQC) has been examining issues that overlap with federal health reform.

Exchange:

Ohio applied for and was awarded an Exchange Planning and Establishment Grant

Amount Awarded: $1,000,000

Initial Planning Activities:

  • Coordinate public and stakeholder through a specially constituted task force.
  • Inform Ohioans of Exchange planning activities through public notices and Ohio’s health reform website.
  • Conduct market analysis, modeling Ohio’s public programs and private insurance markets to provide projections and analysis necessary for planning and implementing an Exchange.

High Risk Pool:

State-Run. The state contracted with Medical Mutual of Ohio to administer the Ohio High Risk Pool.
